In filmmaking, I actually prefer working with inexperienced people, since they bring a much fresher perspective untainted by often-incorrect “conventional wisdom”. Sure, there’s the learning curve, but as any educator worth their salt knows, a teacher learns from their student as much as the student learns from the teacher. So it’s often a net gain to work with someone who needs to learn the ropes.

I would gladly hire a whole bunch of disillusioned high school dropouts if only I had the capital.
