Anyway, I’ve been updating the names as I think about how to discuss these issues. For instance, “free trade” became “international trade” (I think). “Domestic slavery” is a hard one; i actually mean “modern day slavery occurring in the USA” (domestic as opposed to foreign). Maybe the term I want is “human trafficking”, as long as it is not conflated with “people smuggling”… and as long as attention is not limited to the “commerce” aspect.

I emphasized “domestic” because we need to emphasize that THIS IS HAPPENING HERE. If we just talk about “slavery” or “human trafficking”, I think most Americans would assume that it’s some terrible thing that foreigners do. It’s easy to assume that American institutions are perfect, and ignore the need for reform here. I’m actually not sure what to do about slavery in the USA (how to get rid of it), but it seems to be an essential topic for left-libertarians.
